I see no reason that you absolutely need a "diaper" bag. All those compartments are nice, but not needed if you are somewhat organized. When Mrs Jacks had business trips and Little Jacks and I would tag along, I would bring my mountain hardware backpack as my "diaper bag."

http://www.mountainhardwear.com/Hueco%E2%84%A2-34/OU4055,default,pd.html

That is a newer model of the one that I have. I would use it for day trips, so I would have changed of clothes for me and little jacks, snacks and lunch for the both of us, water, diapers, wipes, laptop, and other miscellaneous stuff that one might need in a pinch. All that would be in the main compartment.

Little Jacks would ride in the Ergo baby up front and the backpack on my back would balance things out. We toured Denver and Baltimore on foot for several days like that and had no problems.

Are girls allowed to ask a question? My husband swears he can just use a regular backpack. I tell him he's going to want all of the compartments, etc. What do you think?

Wow, that is some diaper backpack...

My problem is where to put my camera as that is a whole other backpack. Now I try to downsize to what fits under the stroller....

Very nice. We just have a brown leather bag we got from Blue Fly I think it was. It looks a lot better than the traditional diaper bags, but a little too much like a pocketbook for me to be carrying around all by myself. I will have to look into something like that!

Mrs. Jacks found it on Zulily so it ended up being like $30 or so. If it was full price, I would not get it either, but it is nice having a n actual backpack that is geared towards being a diaper bag.

We have a regular solid black diaper bag. That backpack looked pricey at $89 but the design looks like it's well worth the extra coin.

I want to know what you guys use for a diaper bag. Mrs. Jacks got me this when jack jack came along:
http://www.dadgear.com/products/78/All-Black
It is one of the only diaper bags that is a back pack instead of a shoulder bag.
