This is a hard one. Mainly because I was able to spend so much time with Little Jacks for the first 2 years. And I do very much miss that now that I am no longer working from home. But helping her to become the woman that she wants to and encouraging her to chase her passions is a damn good one. Also, one thing to note is that with a more involved father, girls tend to lead happier and more confidant lives!

I'm looking forward to grilling her boyfriend and tailing him around town in my car to let him know I'm keeping an eye on him.

Actually mostly I'm looking forward to spending time 1:1 with her, and doing things that she enjoys. I really want to encourage her interests and passions, so that will be a big part of my focus. I'll do that with our son as well, but I think it's even more important with a daughter. I've noticed that girls are less likely to be encouraged to pursue an interest than boys, although maybe that's changing.
