I ran out of room. I also like Kirin, Saporo, Leinenkugel. I would like to try some Scottish beers I have never had the pleasure.
Maybe Tactical Nuclear Penguin by BrewDog Brewery in Scotland. It is 32% alcohol by volume content! Also about $50 a bottle!

I'm a fan of Sierra Nevada and IPAs in general!
@Mr. Coco Bee: Wow never heard of Tactical Nuclear Penguin... what does it taste like?

@mrbee: I don't know, never had the pleasure of trying it, but it probably tastes like jet fuel
There are several monestaries in Scotland that only brew their beer once a year and they also tend to have higher alcohol content 15 - 20%. If I ever get a chance to visit I will definately check it out and let you know!

@Mr. Coco Bee: Haha if you did try a Tactical Nuke Penguin, you probably wouldn't remember what it tasted like!

@mrbee: I'm probably not supposed to be posting here, but I know Mr. Jacks would say IPAs and especially black IPAs right now (though they are so trendy). Mr. Jacks is quite the beer connoisseur.

Mr. Food Paste loves the Kona brewing company. Runners up are Sam Adams and Flying Dog brewery.
Have you tried double bastard ale?

@pastemoo: Oooh, we love Kona Brew Co too! We go there at least once every time we're on the big Island. And don't forget Dog Fish Head, 120 minute.

I tend to like a lot of different beers. I tend to favor the ales though. Kona makes some good beers. I will have to check out this "Tactical Nuclear Penguin" for the name alone!

I like a lot of beer. Also worthy of the list is Summit EPA and Deschutes Mirror Pond Pale Ale.

I rarely drink beer but I recently had a mango beer in a microbrewery pub. It didn't taste anything like mango but was very pleasant.
There's another called Oxford Gold which is one I have now and then.
Now where's the brandy tasting poll?

@rosswag: You can make one at the bottom of the Dad Talk forum!

I like just about anything but lagers... That being said, put an IPA in front of me any time of the day and I will not refuse!

@mrbee: And back off Mrs. Jacks! She is a damn good wife to know the likes of this man!

@Mr. Jacks: I'm a super fan of Mrs. Jacks!
Sorry, hope my post didn't come across badly... it's just tricky building up a dads board on a site with mostly moms. Not sure how to balance it... I didn't anticipate the dads board being so popular with our female members!

A few "favorites" for me, based on circumstance:
-An unlimited tap: Brooklyn Brown Ale
-Last beer to go with last meal: Victory Hop Wallop
-Desert island beer: Kona Longboard Lager
-If forced to drink a 12 pack: Coors Light
-Instinctive response when asked for a favorite: Dogfish Head 90 min
...suddenly thirsty.

@Wagon Sr.: Dogfish 90 min is an IPA right? Love that one! I remember it had a really high proof... I liked that part too haha!

@mr. bee yessir. it's an IPA, and packs 9% alcohol by volume. delicious AND efficient: being a parent means using your time wisely. =)

@Wagon Sr.: seriously, I like their priorities. And yours!!

@rosswag I couldn't help but start reading your post in the voice of the "Most Interesting Man In the World"... like so: http://www.quickmeme.com/meme/3qtghz/
Also... if you start a brandy/scotch thread, i'll hop right in there with you brother!

I was going to mention dogfish head for you east coasters! We can't get it here in Utah. If you ever see it though you should try some of Epic Brewery beers. They are about 4 years old and only do craft beers here in SLC. They only bottle in 22 oz bottles (since kegs here can't be higher than 3.2%). But they range in price from $4-16 a bottle and range from 5%-16% (I think there is only 1 or 2 beers at 5%). Most of em are pretty heavy hitters. And they have the best IPAs I have ever had!

I don't recognize over half the beers listed. But I'm sure I could post some that you guys have never heard of either. I don't know if I could pin point a favorite, but Spotted Cow and Blue Moon are at the top of the list.
I dabble in the homebrew hobby and have made a few different styles of ales. My wife enjoyed one of the Mr Beer recipes called Honey Maibock and I was a fan of the all grain brown ale that I brewed. The brown ale was a pretty close clone of Moose Drool.

Wow, a beer poll, now we are getting somewhere.
Happy to say that beer is hard to choose just one but I tend to stick to darker ones, depending on time of year!
Summer more light, fall and winter dark
